This is a hard place to shoot as the Mall police will not allow you to use a tripod, even when the crowds are small.  Then, you have to deal with the crowds. This was taken at San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, within the Conservatory of Flowers.  That is a nice place to visit if you get the opportunity. This is the Smithsonian Institution's Kogod Courtyard at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Taken in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia.  A single rose. This is an orchid (phalaenopsis).  This was done with a a wide angle lens coupled to an extension tube, and exposed for 30 seconds in a dimly-lit room.
